The Educator's Reference Desk, created and maintained by the Information Institute of Syracuse, offers a superb collection of materials for teachers of a variety of subjects, including English as a Second Language (ESL). The materials consist of selected links to online resources, user-submitted lesson plans, and answers to questions about education.


  • More than 3,000 links to quality online education resources, including Internet sites, educational organizations, and electronic discussion groups, classified into different categories: Counseling, Educational Levels, Educational Management, Educational Technology, Evaluation, Family Life, General Education, Librarianship, Reference, Specific Populations, Subjects, Teaching
  • More than 2,000 lesson plans written by teachers from all over the United States for a range of subjects (Arts, Computer Science, Foreign Language, Health, Information Literacy, Interdisciplinary, Language Arts, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies, Vocational Education) and levels (1st-12th grades, adult/continuing education, higher education, vocational education)
