The Learning Page

The Learning Page is an educational website of the Library of Congress, designed as an aid to teaching and learning American history and culture. It draws on resources from the American Memory, an online archive of more than 100 collections containing 7 million primary source documents, photographs, films, and recordings.

Features:

  • Guides to incorporating American Memory primary sources into lessons
  • Classroom-tested sample lesson plans, categorized by theme/topic/discipline/era and by title
  • Feature presentations and interactive activities focusing on curricular themes and topics related to American history and culture
  • Summaries of the contents of American Memory collections, plus suggested teaching strategies and activity ideas
