The Online Books Page, maintained by John Mark Ockerbloom of the University of Pennsylvania, indexes more than 30,000 free books on the Internet. The books come in various formats and can be easily browsed by author, title, or subject.

Features:

  • Comprehensive index of free online books and serials (magazines, journals, newspapers, and other periodicals), complete with an advanced search engine
  • Links to major directories and archives of free online texts, both general and specialized, in English as well as in other languages
  • Special section featuring links to books written by women writers, books that have been censored or banned, and books that have won literary prizes such as the Newbery Award, the Nobel Prize, and the Pulitzer Prize
